My team and I worked on an challenge from Jumbo. The goal was to design an interactive Proof of Concept that makes online content shoppable, encouraging customers to shop more frequently on Jumbo’s e-commerce platform.
To understand user needs and identify opportunities, I conducted competitive analysis, examined competitors, and interviewed shoppers about their routines, frustrations, and expectations. The insights from these interviews showed problems such as difficulty finding exotic or local products and a lack of inspiration when planning meals.
We translated these findings into several design challenges, focusing on inspiration and personalized recommendations. Through multiple brainstorming rounds, stakeholder meetings, and low-fidelity prototyping, we refined the idea into a concept called “Tailored Recipes.” This feature uses AR technology to scan items, such as handwritten lists, receipts, or magazine recipes and instantly convert them into purchasable products with personalized recipe suggestions.
I contributed to researching AR vs. alternative scanning technologies, selecting the most suitable approach, and designing the user flows. I also helped create the high-fidelity prototype, which underwent usability testing to optimize clarity, labeling, and user flow. The final concept provides a seamless and inspiring experience that connects everyday “content” (lists, recipes, magazines) directly to Jumbo’s online shop.
