Lectorate IXD

During my internship at the Interaction Design (IXD) at Fontys University of Applied Sciences ICT, I explored the role of an front-end developer and UI/UX designer within a research-driven environment focused on the relationship between humans and the technosphere.

My project addressed the limited external visibility of IXD. An internal evaluation showed that, while the group was well established within Fontys and its partners, its ambitions regarding external positioning and knowledge dissemination were not yet sufficiently reflected on the website.

The goal of the project was to improve the IXD website as a communication and dissemination platform for external experts and partners. I conducted interviews with researchers, experts, and IXD partners, which revealed that there was little incentive for external stakeholders to visit the website.

Based on these insights, I designed wireframes and a high-fidelity prototype featuring a new partner page, contact page, and expertise page. The prototype was validated through usability testing, interviews, and comparison testing, resulting in a refined design that improved clarity, relevance, and accessibility of the website content.
